Featuring dance, Chinese martial arts, music and visual arts, this production present Beethoven’s legendary Symphony No. 9 with dance movements that bring out the spirit of struggle against destiny in the face of adversity, efforts to get over personal distress and determination to sacrifice individual interest to accomplish the greater self. The whole piece of dance is a mix of the continuous actions of Neijiaquan, the quick and forceful Tai Chi staff and the spiral force of Chen style Tai Chi with yi (mind) bringing qi (energy) and qi bringing li (strength), all of which interacts wonderfully with the musical movements.
